Holiday Cabaret

2pm December 11th & 18th, 2022

A turkey and some mistletoe helps to make the season bright, but a Holiday Cabaret will get your festive season started! Come on down to the Havana Theatre for an afternoon of holiday songs performed by talented local artists. This intimate venue boasts cabaret seating with table service, provided by the Havana restaurant, and features delicious snacks and craft cocktails.

Put on your Christmas sweater and be entertained by our live pianist and talented vocalists. These amazing performers will share festive tunes sure to leave you tapping your toes interspersed with funny holiday anecdotes! The chestnuts are roasting, the stockings are hung, so what are you waiting for?

Alexis Hope (She/Her) - Vocalist

Originally from Calgary, Alexis Hope has been singing in musical productions, and for fun, for years. Along with singing, Alexis is passionate about acting and writing. She also loves to read poetry, spend time with her sister and French bulldog, and go out in the rain, just so that she can come back inside and hide under the blankets. Alexis is so excited to be sharing the Christmas spirit with you!

Cathy Shields Morehouse  (They/Them) - SM (Dec 11th)

Cathy graduated from Trinity Western University’s BA Theatre program in 2019. Past stage management credits include Catch Me If You Can with Theatre in the Country, Eat Your Heart Out and Blithe Spirit with Royal Canadian Theatre Company, and The Snow Queen, Anne of Green Gables, and The Game of Love and Chance with Trinity Western University.

Cecilia Federizon (She/Her) - Vocalist

Cecilia is thrilled to be part of Painted Fern’s Holiday Cabaret! This past October, she was part of Stage43’s production of Footloose (ensemble). She has also been in various local singing groups, notably Wings Vocal Collective, Vancouver Cantata Singers, and Vancouver Bach Youth Choirs. A perfect day for Cecilia would include a tasty meal and binge-watching her current favourite TV show. She shares her gratitude to her husband Jomar, parents, voice teachers, family and friends for their endless support and love.

Konrad Lasocki (He/Him) - Vocalist

Konrad—with a K—is a performer based in so-called Vancouver, on the unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples — sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) nations. He loves to sing, dance, and take things apart. He’s honored to be a part of his second Painted Fern’s Holiday Cabaret. This is surely to be a night you won’t want to miss. Katrina Teitz (She/They) - Vocalist (Dec 11th)

Katrina Teitz is a performer based in Vancouver and has her Diploma in Musical Theatre from Capilano University (2017). Favorite credits include Next To Normal (West Moon Theatre), Crybaby the Musical (Awkward Stage Productions), Kill The Ripper (Geekenders/Affair of Honor). She is an aspiring stunt performer with training in flips, tricks, Wushu and a black belt in Karate. You can find her on all socials at @katrinateitz She also has two cats who are very cute.

Ming-Xuan Chung (He/Him) - Vocalist

Ming-Xuan started his musical endeavors at the piano at the age of 6. He started lending his voice to the SFU Choir and discovered a passion for singing and opera. He has sung with various local companies and currently studies at UBC in the opera program. Last seen singing at UBC as the Runaway Boy in Shadow Catch and Gamekeeper in Rusalka. He regularly plays and sings for the Beacon Unitarian Church. Ming-Xuan is excited to be given the opportunity to perform in his first Cabaret!

Peter Abando (He/Him) - Pianist

Peter’s credits include the Ovation nominated Connected: The Musical (Whirlwind Theatre), the Jessie nominated Edges (Two Monkeys Productions), Spring Awakening (Phantom Moon Collective), Next To Normal (West Moon Theatre), Dear Evan Hansen (Laughing Matters Theatre), 9 to 5 (Capilano U), and Amélie (West Moon Theatre). Peter regularly conspires with Jennifer Pielak, Chris Lam, and Nicole Roberge. You can find him accompanying, teaching, directing, composing, coaching, and improvising music all around Metro Vancouver.

Sara Mayfield (She/Her) - Vocalist/SM (Dec 18th)

Sara is delighted to share some holiday cheer with everyone! Recent projects include Betty Haynes inWhite Christmas (Theatre in The Country), director/writer/producer of The Girl Next Door, A new queer Canadian pop/rock musical  (Painted Fern Productions), and her work as a cast member and producer on Tabletop Tiddies, a queer and feminist TTRPG podcast and stream.
