Why drink a mocktail when you can have the real thing?

Told in the style of Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s “Fleabag” with an early 2000’s pop-punk soundtrack, this one-woman comedy follows party-girl Candace as she runs away to Mexico for her best friend's destination wedding... and she isn't the maid of honor... or even a bridesmaid. A karaoke bar, dead goldfish, and a spirited adventure awaits! You won't have regrets... but Candace might!

Painted Fern Productions follows their award-winning musical The Girl Next Door, with this poignant one-woman comedy. Written by award-winning playwright Sara Mayfield and directed by Damon Bradley Jang, this play is sure to have you tapping your toes and laughing out loud!

What are people saying?

"Candace’s Bridesmaids-type story is told with a great deal of spunk and sympathy"
- Stuart Nulmans Grapevine @stuartnulman
"The ideas of this show are explored beautifully and capably by Sara who manages to make a character that can easily be abrasive sympathetic and relatable. You can feel her struggles despite laughing through the piece, and at the end, are eager to see her make the choices that she will make. " - Matti McLean, Can't Stand Sitting Fringe Reviews
"Super endearing performance from a rising talent who clearly connected with the material. Loved the music too, some absolute pop-punk classics used to bring the story into a gritty reality..." - Shane Adamczak @shaneadamczak
"Relatable, engaging, and funny in all the right places." - Rachael Brewin-Caddy, Marketing & Communications @vancouverfringe
